The frozen Pizza Davide is a truffle pizza unlike the mass-market frozen aisle: pistachio cream with Parmigiano Reggiano, imported Mortadella with black truffle by Golfera, fresh Mozzarella and whole pistachios. Hand-stretched in our Manhattan pizzeria.

Ingredients: Homemade dough with Caputo Super Nuvola and Type 1 imported flour, pistachio cream (Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, pistachio, and extra virgin olive oil), imported Mortadella with black truffle by Golfera, fresh Mozzarella, pistachio.

All frozen products must be placed in the freezer as soon as delivered to you.
Remove the pizza from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 500F, allow pizza cook for 2.30 - 3.15 min in house oven or 2.15 - 3 min in commercial oven.

Is this the same Pizza Davide recipe cooked in-house at the pizzeria?

It is the same recipe. The dough, the pistachio cream, the imported Mortadella with black truffle by Golfera and the fresh Mozzarella match the in-house version one for one. Flash-freezing happens within a couple of hours of baking, the single step that lets the pizza travel without losing its profile.

Is the Pizza Davide gluten free?

No. This recipe contains gluten because the Caputo dough is not gluten free. As a gluten free alternative we ship a Margherita pizza made with imported Caputo Fioreglut flour.

Should I bake the Mortadella with the pizza?

No. The Mortadella ships separately in four slices and must be added cold after baking. Cooking it on the pizza would melt the fat and lose the truffle aroma. Place the slices over the hot pizza right after it comes out of the oven.

Too small for the price. Tastes slightly better than frozen pizza.

Very good. Love the flavors. Just FYI - only came with 4 slices of mortadella, though the picture shows 6. Nonetheless it was delicious and I would definitely order it again.
