Frequently Asked Questions

What is Golfetta salami?
Golfetta is a cured pork salami produced by Golfera, a charcuterie maker based in Lavezzola, in Emilia-Romagna. On the Pizza Romana Diavola a spicy version is used as the heat element, seasoned with chili pepper, garlic and black pepper, balanced by the fresh mozzarella and the tomato sauce.
How spicy is the Pizza Romana Diavola compared to the Neapolitan Diavola?
Medium heat on both, the spice level is comparable. The Neapolitan version uses spicy Soppressata cured in Campania, while the Roman version uses spicy Golfetta from Emilia. The Roman crust changes the eating experience: the crunch absorbs heat differently, so the spice feels slightly softer on the cut.
What is the difference between Pizza Romana and Pizza al Taglio?
Pizza Romana is the broader Roman pizza category, which includes thin-crust round, thick-crust al taglio and the in-between styles. Pizza al Taglio is specifically the rectangular tray pizza cut into squares and sold by weight in Roman bakeries. Our Pizza Romana Diavola is the rectangular 15x11 inch format, closer to the al taglio tradition but baked as a single pie.

I’ve had better!

The pizza crust was the best part of the pizza. The topping sauce, cheese and pepperoni were tasteless. I’m somewhat disappointed based on the price! It’s definitely nothing I will re-order

Great crust

U guys hit the mark. I was somewhat concerned about them being frozen but we were really happy with the results. Crispy on the outside soft and chewy throughout. Excellent
